This week our favorite photos are from our visit to Washington D.C. in June 2007. The weather was fabulous, sunny and low humidity. Enjoy!

In eight years we have taken 72,994 snapshots. We say snapshots as we are not professional photographers. But we have certainly learned at lot from practice! And we have learned from friends who are professionals: Dave Garth, Melissa Jean and Peter Boonisar. We have learned to frame our photos well, and from our "pro" friends learned the importance of lighting, taking photos from different angles and elevations, and finally learned to "see the potential" for a good photo. Thank you to our friends and for those following this blog, we hope you enjoy our Favorite Photos #4.

When we moved to Atascadero, California in 1977, there were eight wineries in North San Luis Obispo County. Today there are over 200! Some of these are small growers with simple but enjoyable tasting rooms. And then some, like Sculpterra, are as ornate as Hearst Castle.
The gardens are just gorgeous!
But what makes them fabulous are the sculptures!
Come here to enjoy the beauty and oh, yeah, don't forget to taste the excellent wines!
